About the expedition

Why did we perform surgeries and screenings?

The expedition included seven dedicated volunteers, including lawyers, engineers, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and surgeons. A total of 342 hours of work were donated, resulting in 15 surgeries, 16 consultations, and 8 ultrasounds. Thanks to the volunteers covering their own costs, the expense for Zoé was less than 3,000 reais. This is Zoé's relentless commitment: uniting efforts and resources to bring health to every corner of the Amazon.

Visit to the Barco Papa Francisco

Received by Friar Afonso Obici, we visited the Barco Papa Francisco, a vessel that enables surgeries onboard. The two organizations planned a joint action in 2023 featuring laparoscopic surgeries.
