What marked this expedition
Training for 35 community health agents
Zoé volunteers conducted a training session at the Municipal Hospital of Belterra, bringing together 35 Community Health Agents (ACS) from the region. During the session, strategies for patient welcoming and communication were discussed for individuals with fibromyalgia or chronic pain, emphasizing the importance of active listening and humanized support.
188 ultrasounds and 79 varicose vein treatments
In addition to 63 rheumatology consultations and minor procedures, the expedition brought immediate relief to patients who had waited years for varicose vein treatment.
More than a decade of waiting
Fernando Antônio Oliveira waited over 10 years to undergo the varicose vein surgery that could transform his life. During our 30th expedition, we witnessed the joy of a man who can now reclaim his life with dignity and freedom. The varicose vein surgery restored not only Fernando’s health but also his hope and the possibility of living fully again.
Who the team met

Fernando Antônio Oliveira waited more than 10 years to have the varicose vein surgery that could transform his life. Due to financial limitations, the procedure was always out of reach, leaving Fernando trapped in his vascular condition. The complications went beyond pain: simple tasks, like putting on a shoe or spending a day at the beach, became distant memories. Life seemed to be slipping through his fingers until fate brought Fernando's path together with Zoé's arrival in Belterra. On our 30th expedition, we witnessed more than a dream fulfilled. We saw the joy of a man who, now, could reclaim his life with dignity and freedom. The varicose vein surgery gave Fernando not only health but also hope and the possibility of living fully again.
