    About the expedition

    Zoés for the Zo'és

In February 2023, Zoé carried out an expedition returning to its roots, on the indigenous land of the Zoé people in the Brazilian Amazon. This journey marked a renewed commitment to inclusive health and the appreciation of local culture. The team performed 153 medical procedures, including notable cases of endoscopies that led to effective and immediate treatments. Zoé continues its mission to bring hope and healthcare to remote Amazon communities.

This was a powerful connection that made treatment happen quickly, and that was very memorable. — Fernando Marson, doctor

    What marked this expedition

Diagnosis and treatment in one day

We performed a total of 6 endoscopies. Of these, one case in particular was the most memorable, because it involved a clearly anemic boy. We made 2 diagnoses with the endoscopy exam. It was interesting because the pilot of the airplane that came to pick us up the next day already brought the medication to treat this parasitosis. — Fernando Marson, doctor

    Why Zoé?

The name Zoé was chosen in honor of the people visited in 2010, who inspired an inclusive health movement, respecting the sustainability of the territory and the culture of our people.

3 surgical patients and 6 endoscopies

There were 3 surgical patients and 6 endoscopic procedures, with special thanks to Dr. Erik Jennings for his active participation in this expedition.
