About the expedition

One week of surgeries in Belterra

During a week in 2022, the 12th expedition of our team in Belterra, Pará, performed 50 surgical procedures, provided home-based medical and geriatric care, and trained six local professionals through an ophthalmological screening with an educational program. In total, 28 volunteers dedicated 1,854 hours, carrying out 491 consultations and exams, but above all, touched lives and left a legacy of health in the Amazon region, demonstrating that care and health education can go hand in hand, even in challenging territories.
