About
My name is Giedelson Rodrigues, I am an Indigenous nurse from the Wai Wai people, graduated in 2023. My professional journey is marked by commitment to health, especially the valorization of Indigenous peoples and strengthening healthcare in traditional communities. I hold postgraduate degrees in Epidemiology, Health Surveillance, and Family Health—areas that have expanded my understanding of the importance of prevention, health promotion, and humanized care while respecting the cultural particularities of each people. As a Wai Wai Indigenous person, I have firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by Indigenous communities in accessing healthcare services. This experience strengthens my motivation to contribute professionally, combining my technical knowledge with my identity, culture, and community experience. My goal is to work ethically, responsibly, and humanely, contributing to more accessible, qualified, and culturally appropriate Indigenous health. I wish to continue learning, sharing my knowledge, and using my experience to serve communities, especially the Wai Wai people.
