Our first expedition was carried out on the banks of the Tapajós River, in Belterra, municipality of the State of Pará / Baixo Amazonas, in November 2020. Doctors at Hospital Sírio Libanês in São Paulo and at Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of USP volunteered to recognize the health demands of this population. The needs for equipment and supplies for equipping the municipal hospital and its surgical center were evaluated. Local leaders were known and partnerships aligned. We also have 2 portable ultrasound devices, used to perform 114 exams. Outpatient and emergency diagnoses were performed, in addition to the selection of patients with clinical conditions that require elective surgeries, to be performed in the next missions. At the time of imaging exams, some patients submitted old medical requests, some dating back to 2015, which could not be performed until that time. We can imagine the health needs of these people.
